Fall Food
By now, you probably know I love fall. It’s not just for the warm, fuzzy sweaters, mind you, but also for the yummy and comforting foods. When I think of fall foods, I immediately think of Thanksgiving dinner (pause to wipe away drool) and how delicious a turkey dinner can be. But I also think of soups. This may sound odd, but I have a serious love for soup. Chowders, bisques, broths, kinds with noodles, others without.

You can’t really have soup in the summer – it’s just too hot out. But come fall, when the weather turns cooler and the air turns brisk, I become a soup fiend. To celebrate the start of fall, I’m thinking about making a soup with a fall vegetable staple: butternut squash. I didn’t know what I was missing before I had butternut squash. The stuff is fantastically delicious (and also fun to say, well, the “squash” part anyway). If you haven’t tried it, I encourage you to try something new and be amazing. If you don’t like it, it may be because it was a bad recipe.

So this week, in celebration of fall, I shall be making curried butternut squash bisque. I’ve made it before and, trust me, it’s as good as it sounds. Next week, it’ll be butternut squash ravioli. I’m trying to find other butternut squash recipes for the week after. It’ll be a squash-a-thon, and a delicious one.
