Fashion Week Favs

Another Fashion Week has come and gone. The buzz has died down and the photos, reviews are coming out and I’ve picked a few of my favorite looks. As I was going through all the snapshots of beautiful designs by my favorite designers, I couldn’t help but be stunned not only by the immediate love I had for certain pieces, but also by the shock of how thin the models are.

Models are always thin, that’s just how the business is, but many of the models on the runway were so rail thin they looked emaciated. They looked dangerously thin. Their narrow frames, jutting bones and sallow faces were sometimes horrifying to see. Thankfully not all the models looked like this, but it certainly puts into question the price we pay to look good in clothes.

I love fashion. I was born with the bug and it will always play a big role in my life. I just hope that at some point industry standards will change to more realistic and healthy ideals.
