I Heart Dessert

I love food – I’m a total foodie who loves to try new foods and eat yummy things.  And while I like making appetizers and roasting and marinating and simmering and slicing and dicing, I also happen to love desserts. Yes everyone, this girl likes sweets and she likes to bake.  I surf around the web to various food websites and blogs but I happened across one recipe from Epicurious.com that looked especially enticing.  The recipe looked simple enough – no crazy ingredients, 40-something steps or long baking times – so I happily whipped up the batter and slid the pan into the oven.

About an hour later I was on Cloud 9, completely blown away at how amazingly delicious and simple this cake was.  I’ve had a LOT of cake in my day and this was, by far, the most moist and flavorful cake I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating.  And it looks so unassuming!!!  I think that’s what gets me the most.  Just looking at the picture and seeing the ingredients had me thinking this cake would probably be good.  But I had NO IDEA it would be THIS GOOD.  I happily ate the whole thing by myself.
