True Blood
For the longest time, I’d been anti-vampire-movies/TV. I admit to reading all the Twilight novels and loving them, but I refuse to see the movies and had zero interest in getting into any of the vampire-based TV shows. One vampire series was enough and the thought of any more made me roll my eyes. But with all things in life, all it takes is time. Plus the opinion of a longtime, well-opinionated friend. So yes, I succumbed to watching vampire television. But not just any ABC Family or major network kind of vampire show. No, I got sucked (get it? get it???) into HBO’s True Blood. I was hesitant to download and watch the series premiere but as soon as I did, I got hooked and badly. I immediately bought and downloaded the rest of Season 1, finished it in two days (when I want to be, I’m a very determined individual), then immediately bought and downloaded Season 2. Alas my friends, with only 2 episodes left for me to watch and no subscription to HBO, I am now nearing what I am sure will be True Blood withdrawal (get it? get it???) and I’m a little scared. I could see myself desperately phoning my cable provider to add premium channels to my cable subscription but maybe I could just watch the two seasons I have over and over again until Season 3 is out. Which sounds less insane??
